Best Rugby Experience

The best rugby experience I’ve had so far was going to Nationals in college during my Junior year for the first time. We ended up winning the game in overtime. It was an amazing experience being able to fight until the end with my teammates and seeing all of our hard work pay off. I also received Most Valuable Player of the match award.

Values

Rugby has instilled many values in me after several years of playing. Some of these values include discipline, respect, leadership, hard work, inclusivity and community. Rugby has taught me how to stay disciplined on the field and off the field. It has allowed me to continue to play at a high level. Being a part of a team has shown me how to work with others from all different backgrounds to work together and achieve the same goal. Rugby has taught me how to take initiative and push through challenges. These values have directly transferred into my everyday life and how I continue to work hard.

Mentors

One of my biggest mentors has always been mom. Since the day I started playing rugby in high school she has always supported and pushed me to be the best player I could. My mom has always given me advice and guidance on ways I can improve. Another mentor that I have is Sue Whitwell. She has always given me a new perspective on the game and has given me a different understanding on the game that I will always value.

The Role Rugby has

Rugby has made a huge impact on my life in every aspect. Being a part of the rugby community has allowed me to find myself and find something that I am extremely passionate about. The game has allowed me to have unique opportunities I wouldn’t otherwise have as well as make deep connections with people from all over the country.
